About

Syracuse and Tours Solar is a proposed 40-megawatt utility-size solar and 160 megawatt-hour battery storage project under development in unincorporated Kern County. Vesper Energy is developing the project and is responsible for it through construction, operations, and eventually decommissioning, when all equipment is removed, and the land is returned to its prior use.We engage directly with residents, landowners, local officials, emergency services, and local agencies to understand community priorities and maintain open communication. Our goal is to be a responsible, reliable partner that Kern County can count on through the development, construction, and life of the project.

About Syracuse and Tours Solar

Syracuse and Tours is a proposed 40-megawatt utility-size solar and 160 megawatt-hours battery storage project developed by Vesper Energy. The project will consist of solar panels and battery storage installed in unincorporated Kern County. Commercial operation is anticipated to begin in October 2028.

Syracuse and Tours is expected to operate for up to 40 years. During that time, the project will create good-paying construction jobs, provide long-term income for participating landowners, and generate new tax revenue for Kern County schools, hospitals, infrastructure, and local government operations.

California homes and businesses powered annually with electricity generated by Syracuse and Tours.

Construction jobs at peak build, with workers supporting the local economy by spending at businesses, restaurants, and service providers.

Years of ongoing operation that provide opportunities for local contractors and suppliers.
